Dans le cadre de notre nouvelle participation au Pocket Films Festival (8-9-10 juin 2007, Beaubourg Paris), l’équipe de Lili range le chat a conduit pendant plusieurs mois un échange cinématographique entre l’Europe et l’Ouzbékistan. Cet échange s’est poursuivi sur place au mois d’avril 2007 (films dominos) par des ateliers en partenariat avec le service culturel français de la ville de Tachkent, capitale de l’Ouzbékistan.
Il s’agissait de créer un jeu de croisements d’images à partir d’expressions idiomatiques russes, ouzbeks, françaises, ou espagnoles. A intervalles réguliers, les artistes participants réalisaient un film court avec comme phrase d’accroche un proverbe, une expression et le postaient sur le blog spécialement crée pour l’occasion. Ce blog était ainsi un lieu de rendez-vous virtuel, il permettait une correspondance filmique. Il est devenu par prolongement un outil de montage, puisque l’accumulation des images crée un film hybride à auteurs multiples.
Les artistes ont utilisé des téléphones portables pour les prises de vues. Les auteurs de ce projet tournaient leurs films au moment qui leur semblaient le plus juste et le plus opportun. Le processus de restitution étant suffisamment formalisé, celui de la prise de vue devait rester spontané et libre. Au final, les filmeurs sont devenus des lépidoptéristes, capturant des films papillons qu’ils épinglaient par la suite pour créer une collection haute en couleurs.

Within the framework of our new participation in Pocket Films Festival (in June 8-9-10th, 2007, Beaubourg Paris), the Lili range le chat team led during several months a film exchange between Europe and Uzbekistan. This exchange continued in a workshop in April 2007 (domino movies), in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, in partnership with the French cultural service.
It was about creating an image crossing game from Russian, Uzbek, French or Spanish idiomatic expressions. Regularly, the participating artists made a short film with a hook sentence like a proverb or an expression, and posted it on the blog specially created for the matter. So, this blog was a virtual meeting point, it made it possible to have a cinematographic correspondence. It became by continuation an editing tool, because the images accumulation creates a hybrid film with several authors.
The artists used mobile phones for shots. The project makers shot their films when it was the most suitable and the most convenient. The process of restoration being formalized enough, that of the recording had to remain spontaneous and free. In the end, the artists became lepidopterist, capturing butterfly films which they pinned afterwards to create a colorful collection.
